Wine

Rochford Terre Pinot Noir draws from a single site at Gembrook in the Yarra Valley. Its terre ('earth' in French) is distinct: shallow, quartz rich soils over a seam of granite bedrock.

The fruit is handpicked, cold soaked and fermented with two thirds of the grapes kept as whole bunches. The ferments are hand plunged once a day and spend four weeks on skins before pressing.

The wine sees natural malolactic conversion in new and seasoned French oak, then is sulphured on lees and aged for 10 months. The wine is racked twice prior to bottling.

Bright red, Rochford Terre Pinot Noir has plenty of earthy, mineral characters with cherry flavours, gritty tannins and spice. Cellaring potential is six years.
